Everyday outfits for women in the fall have been dominated by the skinny jean, ankle boot, and sweater combo for the past several years. And it’s still going strong. I think this comes down to the fact that the basic shapes stay the same, but the variety is endless. Light and dark denim. Raw or finished hemlines. Cropped or full-length. Relaxed or fitted. Scarf or sweater. Boot or sneaker. And accessory options are equally plug-and-play.
For this ensemble, the raw hemlines and lightly destructed denim work with the Linea Paolo Felicia bootie to keep it very casual. I bought this bootie last year in two different colors, this dark camo being one of them, and they’ve gotten so much wear as a part of an everyday outfit.
Up top, any black tank top will do. The one pictured is a sweater cami from Express. My favorite part of this outfit, however, is this white multi-stitch sweater from Express. New this season, it’s extra soft, and its sleeves are long enough for my 5’9″ ectomorph arms. I see this getting lots of use as an at-home layer for extra warmth and a stylish layer for those everyday outfits when you’re just running around.
The monogram stripe TB shoulder bag from Burberry is one I’ve had my eye on for quite some time. I love this pattern on Burberry’s e-canvas, which the Burberry website describes as: an environmentally conscious canvas, primarily made using renewable resources that require less water and generate less CO2 than conventional coated canvases. Classic AND sustainable. Matches both black and brown accessories. I see this handbag working for an everyday outfit, special days out, and airline travel. You can’t lose.
