outfit of the week pin

Outfit of the Week #3 was inspired by this cold shoulder sweater from Paige. Extra long sleeves and a chunky turtleneck are usually reserved for the coldest months, but the open shoulder makes it a breathable option that will be comfortable through autumn. Available in black, gray, ivory, and camel heather.

I’ve paired the ivory sweater with dark wash denim from Express. I opted for skinny jeans to accommodate these gold-heeled boots from Franco Sarto. I’ve been a fan of Franco Sarto footwear for the past ten years. They are always comfortable, durable, and beautifully crafted. The materials are often synthetic which puts them at a more comfortable price point than their high-end counterparts. The gold-tone plating on the block heel of these boots is what ultimately sold me.

The theme of gold and cashew-brown travels upward with this logo belt from Burberry. I’m a big fan of Burberry accessories and I’ve especially loved the makeover the line has gotten in the past few years with the new-old TB logo. Tuck the hem of the sweater in just at the front to expose the buckle and smooth out the flow of the outfit from top to bottom.

I always find accessories with turtleneck sweaters and extra-long sleeves tricky. Necklaces get caught and you end up not being able to see bracelets. The fix? A watch that can be worn over top of the sleeve, and earrings. I love gold hoops. The trick here is to find a pair that’s either small enough that it doesn’t brush the top of the turtleneck, or long enough that it dangles outside the turtleneck without getting tucked inside of it.
